I came across a story last week about an Atheist group (The British Humanist Association) trying to raise funding for a London bus ad campaign. The donation page can be found here.
The slogon on the ad’s will read “There’s probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life.” Now all arguments for or against religion and the existence of God aside, as it can be a very explosive subject, I am quite pleased to see ad’s promoting the Atheist point of view. It’ll make a nice change from being told that “Jesus Saves” and that I should repent or burn in Hell.
The campaigns goal was just £5,500.00, but it has reached a total of £117,378.00 as of today, an amazing amount. A message on the donation page says that the money will now be used to roll out the ad campaigns across britain, and to extend the campaign with new slogons and ad’s. So expect to see an ad near you sometime in the New Year
Online bookmaker Paddy Power are running odds of 4-1 that God exists, and punters have so far placed £5000 with Paddy Power:
A spokesman for Paddy Power said that confirmation of God’s existence would have to be verified by scientists and given by an independent authority before any payouts were made, however. He added: “The atheists’ planned advertising campaign seems to have renewed the debate in pubs and around office water-coolers as to whether there is a God and we’ve seen some of that being transferred into bets.
“However we advise anyone still not sure of God’s existence to maybe hedge their bets for now, just in case.”

lmao I can’t believe anyone has put money on this - good scheme by paddypower to make money
You ‘hedge your bets’ (not ‘edge your bets’)
Don’t know what you’re talking about
This is great seeing as atheist views are often ignored.
I myself am an atheist. I have no disrespect to anybodies religion. I learnt that years ago.
I am a believer in some things such as ghosts and stuff though. I just cant get my head around religion as the stuff i read i also seem to prove wrong.
I’ve just been thinking about what i wrote earlier.
If these people are advertising atheism isnt this just another way of turning people. LIKE A RELIGION?
Its just another way of pumping rubbish into someones mind thurfore turning maybe only little into atheists.
This is what i detest about religion, they well talk and talk until you turn, and it sends people crazy.
People stick to what you believe in. Don’t try and turn people let them make their own minds.
